I am in need of some major catch up...
I felt that my earlier post wasn't enough so here I am again.
There is a lot that I have been doing in the past few weeks. Everything from school, to trips, to night's at the pub. Scotland was simply one piece in the picture I am beginning to paint...
Let me paint the rest so far as best I can:
Novemeber 5th-November 11th:
I spent these 7 days exploring Scotland, going from the cities to the highlands and quickly becoming infatuated with this country. As soon as I was in Edinburgh, I was happy. I felt, oddly enough, at home. Maybe this was me romanticising, I don't really know, but everything about Edinburgh made me happy. Simply walking around was enough. It had an atmosphere of welcoming; an atmosphere in which I felt I belonged.
I loved it. I want to live there and I hope that someday I can do so...I don't think I could do it on my own though...you up for it D, C, and F? :)
Then there was Glasgow; gorgeous. More modern and industrial, but nonetheless, beautiful. The University of Glasgow and the Kelvingrove Art Museum were breathtaking...
*sigh*
And the highlands...absolutely gorgeous...
It was a little surreal really; I felt like I was caught in one of those Christmas Globes. A fairytale land really.
And then:
November 12th through November 14th:
I am back in Ireland; I take a trip to the Ring of Kerry.
My infatuation with Scotland isn't gone, but Ireland's beauty wins me back. The Ring of Kerry was beautiful.
What is the Ring of Kerry?
Exactly what it sounds like; a Ring of sights to see, naturally majestic places in Ireland, all found in South County Kerry. This weekend involved two days of sights, two night's of Caliagh Dancing and Table Quizes, and relaxign afternoons doing absolutely nothing.
Pictures for this are coming up soon...
And now...
Novemeber 14th through November 18th:
Days of studying have consumed this week...probably time since I have been acting like I have no work to do these past two weeks...
Phone calls and Skype this weekend...
And more pictures will be posted to help in my very green, very full, painting...
...and from the pictures you have taken, it really does feel like one of our good friends has been sucked into a fairytale book. But you know, it's great to know that you 'felt at home' once you got to Edinburgh. Haha, something as drastic as moving there would at least warrant a few visits to acquaint ourselves with the area. But on a serious note, it would be nice to make my life somewhere other than the valley, so I'm inclined to say I might actually consider. Greenery everywhere, cooler weather...and those clouds! It sounds like a dream come true!
