The Purpose: To log the next year of my life-the ups, the downs, and the in-betweens-in a manner that will let my friends and family know that, yes, I am still alive, even 4000+ miles away.

The Plan: To post pictures, music, food, art, and other new discoveries, along with a written log of my everyday, ordinary or not, life as the year progresses.

Early Morning's and Irish Class

I never thought I would enjoy getting up at 6 in the morning, but I have found that 6 am is prime for Skyping with home.

It's keeping me sane to be honest...that and future fun travel plans.

I am going to Galway this weekend, tons of cool pictures, a chance to see V, and new blog opportunities. The Cliffs of Moher should be beautiful. :D

Until then though, I have to get through one more class, some gym time, and immigration. Haha.
To be honest, this week has been a tough one so far, I'm missing home a lot...

I know the bout will soon be over, but for now 6 am Skype is keeping me alive. That and an Irish Speaking class I am taking. I'm learning some Irish Phrases that are pretty cool, I must say.

I've decided that as practice, I am going to post some of the phrases I learn in class here, just for the fun of it. :D

So, for the first lesson (because I think it's hilarious) here is a phrase:

Pog Mo Thoine (pronounced pog mu hone)which means kiss my ass (arse, as the Irish would say)

Dia D(h)uit: Hello
(Dia height)

Dia^s miur d(h)uit: the resoponse to hello. :D
(Dia smura height)

There is your lesson for the day.

Slan go foille (good bye for now)

I'll leave you with a few pictures...

  3. Your pictures are beautiful!!! Glad to see that Ireland is as beautiful as it's reputation. Keep taking pictures so I can live vicariously.

Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit homesick, but that is par for the course.

I am going to look forward to the Irish lessons! Maybe I will see you on Skype this weekend. Maybe not. Have fun traveling and visiting with V.
